Facebook & Instagram data deletion
Grown in the County / GRIT · Last updated May 5, 2026
This page explains how farm owners can ask us to delete information we received from Meta(Facebook or Instagram) if you use an optional “connect your Page or Instagram” feature on GRIT. It is provided to meet Meta's user data deletion expectations for apps that use Facebook Login or related APIs.
What we may store (when you connect)
If you choose to connect Meta to your listing, we may store only what is needed to read or display information you approve — for example:
- Technical tokens from Meta (so we can refresh access until you disconnect or they expire)
- Identifiers Meta assigns to your Facebook Page and/or Instagram professional account
- Profile or Page fields you allow us to sync (such as name, biography, or profile image URLs) so they can appear on your public farm stand card
We do not sell this information. Details about our general privacy practices are in our Privacy Policy.
How to request deletion
You can do any or all of the following:
- Email us. Send a message to support@growninthecounty.ca with the subject line suggested above. Include your farm or stand name as it appears on the map and, if possible, the email or phone number we use for your listing so we can match your account. We will delete or disconnect Meta-derived data we hold for that listing within 30 days (usually sooner), and confirm when it is done.
- Remove GRIT in Meta. In your Facebook or Instagram account settings, remove access for Grown in the County (or the app name shown for our Meta app) under apps, websites, or business integrations. That removes our authorization to fetch new data; you may still email us to ensure copies on our servers are deleted.
Public listing without Meta
Deleting Meta-connected data does not by itself remove your farm from the map if you still have a listing. Optional manual fields (hours, crops, photos you upload in GRIT, etc.) stay until you ask to close the listing or remove those items separately.
